Tech Prep connects high school to college
Tech Prep links career and technical programs in high schools with community colleges to create seamless 2+2 programs. Students complete the first two years of the Tech Prep program in high school (junior and senior years) and the second two years at a community college to earn a degree or certificate. Through this program, students often begin to earn college credit during high school, and many students also continue on to complete a 4-year degree at a university.
There are two ways students can start earning college credit in high school:
1.Co-Enrollment Credit
Students can take classes at their local community college while still in high school. Students may be able to earn both college credit and high school credit for these classes.
2.Articulated Transfer Credit/Dual Enrollment
Many community colleges offer credit for Tech Prep career and technical programs taken during high school. Students can often earn these credits at low or no cost, depending on where they live in Arizona.
